At the heart of the Funky Buddha are our Core Values – a deliberate and thoughtfully compiled list of ideals by which we operate, live, and create. Our Core Values permeate everything that we do and can be seen in everything from our employee policies to our class formats. Funky Buddha Core Values are at the center of both our student and staff culture. They provide a foundation on which to build excellence, and guide our continuing evolution.
A side benefit of being a business with intentionally formulated and strongly supported Core Values is an increased awareness of displays of excellence in the business community around us, and in West Michigan, there is excellence all around us.

What sets you aside from other businesses in your industry?
Ecobuns Baby + Co. is a retail store that carries modern, eco-friendly baby products. We provide our customers with a personal shopping experience in order to match up products that fit their lifestyle.
What do you pride yourself on?
Our community. We have the best customers ever. Being a new parent can be so overwhelming. We love that we can be a hub for new parents to connect to each other. I love that we are more than a retail store. We are a place that new parents can feel comfortable coming to in the early weeks of parenthood. Friends are made, and our community is strengthened.
On top of that, we take pride in the selection of products that we carry. We have the largest variety of cloth diapers, baby carriers, and other eco-friendly products in West Michigan. We constantly re-evaluate our product lines to make sure that we are carrying the most current, on trend, sustainable products possible.
Can you speak to any (or all) of our core values (Quality, Accessibility, Continuous Improvement and Innovation, R.I.C.H (Respect, Integrity/Intentionality, Caring, Honesty/Humility) Action?
Quality: As a family owned business (myself + my mom + my sister) we make sure that all of the products that we carry at the store are ones that we would use on our family. We comment to only offering products that we can stand behind as a business and as parents ourselves.
Accessibility: We strive to bring more resources to the Holland/Zeeland community. Bringing more resources to new families means less travel time with new babies.
Continuous Improvement: We now have a team of 5 staff members that are constantly coming up with new ways to better serve our community. Our team meets monthly to come up with new ideas and make sure that everything that we are doing is in line with our mission statement and philosophy.
R.I.C.H. Action: This sums us up at our core. Our business model is first to care for our community. Of course, the retail side has to exist to support the community aspect we offer. But our heart lies in support of the families here in West Michigan. Everything at the heart of our business comes back to determining if we are being good people. Are we loving this community? Did we make someone’s life better today? I love this community that we are serving, and we operate our business with the standard of doing the best for the community that we love and live in.
